Vintage Circus Unisex Nursery Wall Art

After trying to locate all of the nursery photos to share with a friend
the other day, I realized that I have not properly written a full post
and shared photos, now that the nursery is completely done.

The baby will be 9 months the end of this month, can't believe
it!! These photos were taken when she was a little bigger than a
newborn, 14 days old. She was a stinker and stayed awake
almost the entire photo shoot but I LOVE how they turned out.

The wooden Circus banner I found on Pottery Barn Kids for
a steal! Only $10 with free shipping, I couldn't pass it up!

The little red shelves are from Hobby Lobby, the perfect
planking of the repurposed window that I found on the curb
in Newport - thank you hubby for fixing it up a bit!

Vintage Unisex Circus Nursery (part 3)

Here are a few more shots of the nursery when we were still waiting for baby...

The cornice board was given to us by a friend. My hubby cut the top off to fit our ceiling height and then painted the pink/black stripes grey and red. We stapled up grey table cloths from Target, the perfect drape!

The bumper, Boppy Pillow Cover, Mobile & Cloth Pennant Banner were made for me by my dear friend Anne. She is working on opening an Etsy shop, so I'll be steering you her direction once she does!

The closet is the perfect place for a changing table. We took off the doors to open the room up a bit and added baskets to the shelves to tuck all the necessary baby clothing items inside.

Vintage Circus Themed Baby Room (Part 2)

There are so many fun and whimsical features in our Vintage Circus Themed baby room, so I decided to split the photos up into a few different blog posts.

Below, I picked this canopy up from IKEA and pulled the nursery room colors from the pennants. Since we didn't know the sex of our baby, there is only a bit of pink in the room, on a few of the little circles on the canopy. But now that we know a little girl will be living here, the pink is perfect!

When we lived in Newport, I scored two of these old windows on someone's curb during trash day...they've traveled all the way to ND before one of them was transformed into a beautiful piece for the nursery. My hubby sanded down the window and then painted it a grey. He then aged it up a bit on the edges and then I lined the backs with some fabulous Circus paper I purchased through Stampin' Up!. As soon as I print out a few of the baby photos of our sweet little girl, I will put them inside a few of the window panes. I used washi tape to attach the papers inside the panes to make it easier to pull out when I'm adding the photos.

I added a sweet little paper banner for a bit of whimsy...

more to come...stay tuned!!

Vintage Circus Themed Baby Room (part 1)

So baby number four was born just a month ago...knowing this would be our last, we chose to not find out the sex and save this fantastic surprise for everyone! Before we even got pregnant, my Mom had given me a few items that used to be my Great Aunt's. She was a teacher and taught me Kindergarten - 2nd grade. As soon as I saw the sectional animals (pictured below) I started dreaming of a vintage circus nursery theme. Since we didn't know the gender, it needed to be unisex and I couldn't be more happy with how the nursery turned out.

I found these fantastic frames at Hobby Lobby,
on sale of course!

Can anyone spot what's in the reflection???
