DIY Plug it in, Plug it in

Ready to shed a little light on the subject?
That's right. DIY. Light. Plugs.
and the lack of cords, yipee!

DIY Desk Plug

Not going to lie, I was a tad bit nervous when my
handy hubs said he wanted to drill a hole and cut
into my awesome 5X5 table top work space but
I'm in love with the finished results and love that I'm
no longer tripping over an extension cord.

Before:
Beautiful, White, HUGE and normally covered with
paper and other crafty bits as I'm working on Etsy shop
orders or crafting something for our family home.

We sketched out where we wanted the box to go
and he even let me try the jigsaw for the first time.
I'm all over that tool this summer...oh the possibilities!

Next the box and electrical stuff, glad he's done
his research because I have no clue when it comes
to wires and such. Hot glue on the other hand,
I'm a pro at that!

and the finished results...what do you think?

DIY Paint and Sticky Vinyl

I got my 'paint on' and accomplished this project that has been on
my to-do list for quite some time now. My punch wall is actually a thick
piece of painted MDF with IKEA hardware, perfect for displaying my
wide assortment of punches that I use frequently. Since we move every
couple of years, I wanted it to be easy to start unpacking my office space
and the punches take up quite a bit of space if they are in drawers. Not to
mention, if you can't see them, you forget you have them! So I'm a
huge cheerleader for using wall space in an office/studio.

I love the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Die Cut called "The Top Note", so free
handed the shape out in pencil after taping up where I wanted the create
vinyl saying to go. I painted two coats around the sides before filling
in the middle, waited for it to dry and then carefully placed the vinyl.

It's perfectly imperfect and I love the pop of green in my very white
studio space! A super quick and easy project to add a little smile
to any room, you could also do this on a smaller piece of wood,
for ease of moving or hanging above a doorway, etc.
