Sunday Score

I know it's not Sunday...just a day late but here's my Sunday score that I picked up from The Boys and Girls Club for only $2.99 Isn't she pretty? I was going to spray paint her orange but once I put her up on my little shelf, I just loved how she pops off the black. So for now, I'm going to leave her alone. I actually carried her around in the same store about 2 weeks ago but had to put her down in haste. I couldn't wait in line since my eyes started watering so bad, I could barely see...oh well, thought it wasn't meant to be till I went back and saw her waiting there for me!

Don't you wish some of these pieces could talk?
Oh the stories she seems to have locked inside those pure white eyes.

Sunday Score

With my DH finally back home, I was able to run into town sans kids and decided to do a little thrift shop browsing as well. I happened upon this sweet orange treasure at Goodwill and snatched it up. With a whopping price tag of $1.49, hardy har... it makes a perfect colorful addition to a bookcase in our living room.
I adore the two black and white photos of our parents cutting their wedding cakes, we had these on display at our own wedding, gracing the cake table.

Plate Rack UpDo

As promised, here are my snazzy plate racks, all dolled up and put to good use!

After looking at them closer in the light of day this morning, I saw I missed a few spots, so gave them another spritz and let them cure for a few hours before hanging.

On the wall

And graced with these sweet watercolors we picked up in Tallinn Estonia
on a Scandinavian Cruise we took back in 2005.

The black frames were very inexpensive from Wally World.

Rack 'Em Up

My first ever encounter with spray paint today, turned into a quick AHA lightbulb moment! Why oh WHY have I not tried this before, so quick, simple, painless, easy...just don't touch it when it's wet, I speak from experience.

I picked up three of these iron plate racks a few days ago at a thrift shop, tags still on. I've always secretly wanted plate racks, just not for plates. GASP! I know, right?! Here's a before, they were obviously supposed to look a little shabby but the dirty unkept look and red marks on them just weren't doing it for me.

Stop back tomorrow to see what I have in store for these repainted beauties.

AND my desk was officially broken-in today, I've gone and messed it up, hooray for creative spurts.
