Etsy Gift Cards, say WHAT?!

Announcing Etsy Gift Cards!!!

Story by natalieschwartz Published on Aug 30, 2012 in Product Announcements
If you are an Etsy seller based in the US, you may have seen a notice in your account about Etsy Gift Cards coming this fall. Site-wide gift cards have been a long-requested feature for buyers and sellers alike, and we could not be more excited about introducing them for the holidays!
Gift cards will be the perfect present for the Etsy-obsessed shopper in your life, but even more importantly they’ll be a way for us to introduce new buyers to Etsy. Our community of buyers has grown incredibly in the past year, which can be attributed largely to people like you spreading the word and marketing your shops. Gift cards will allow us to be more aggressive in our own marketing efforts by distributing gift cards to partners and creating promotional offers.
So how will Etsy Gift Cards work?
Starting this fall, any member will be able to purchase a gift card with a US credit card. You can email the gift card directly to a friend or print one out to give in person. The gift card credit will be in the form of a code, which buyers will use towards purchases at any shop accepting direct checkout.

I am SERIOUSLY so excited about this, I can't stop bouncing up and down in my seat!! Or maybe that's my afternoon coffee kicking in, either way, get excited people because the holidays are approaching quickly and we all need a bit of handmade love to spread around!

What's happening in LeroyLime World

Not much going on over here...besides whipping up several orders of LeroyLime paper rosettes, finished editing my last photography session from RI (can I get a yeeHAW!) and sanded down a curbside junker from RI yesterday (and yes, my hubby was THRILLED we moved it with us, not). So this little lady will soon get a new coat of paint, can you guess what color??

Pinterest Link Party

Back in November of last year, I threw an Angry Birds Birthday party for my 4 year old. Using Pinterest as my inspiration, I had fun watching all the little birds and games come to life with my own hands!

You can check out my blog posts below, which feature more projects and games.

So, in light of A Night Owl Blog Birthday Bash Week, I thought it fitting to link up Pinterest Birthday party ideas. Here are a few of my fav's...

and we can't leave out the girls

Horsin' Around

And here's what my pretty little white board looks like now...

GORGEOUS aren't they??

I found these little beauties on ETSY, surprise surprise!!...At a sweet little shop called CamillaCotton. I kindly asked if she'd paint them colors to coordinate with my daughters bedding and she quickly replied with a yes. I was beyond THRILLED when they arrived in the mail, all bubble wrapped and ready to hang.

Since we move every couple of years, I wanted the hooks easy to transport, so a board seemed the best fit. That way we only have two screws to deal with and two holes to fill instead of six!

Another sweet addition to the horse themed room, LOVE it!

Bored Yet?

Or rather, BOARD yet? Another sneak peak. This
project is for my daughter's bedroom. She's recently become
intrigued with horses, so we changed up her room theme from
birds to horses and it's been fun using Etsy and my
hubby's DIY skills to pull it all together.

I snagged a piece of scrap wood from the newly built bed, sanded down
the edges a bit and then used leftover white stain (two coats) which
still lets the grain of the wood show through.

All done! (and during nap time, hooray)
Check back tomorrow to see the finished project!

I adore the two black and white photos of our parents cutting their wedding cakes, we had these on display at our own wedding, gracing the cake table.

Make-Up Mayhem

So with a new move, comes new space (or lack there of-which is NOT the case in this house) drawers, cupboards, blank walls...and more room for DIY and Pinterest ideas, wink wink!

I've always kept my make up in a bag, brushes in the pocket. Till my dear hubby surprised me with a snazzy brush set and roll out MOTHER-load holder with brushes, LOVE him! So the brushes went elsewhere but I was still digging around in my Mary Poppins bag for the right shades, till now.

Oh goody a DRAWER, which I didn't even spot, no kidding...till week 2 in our house. So I promptly unpacked my make up and it looked like this, yuck right?
agreed

off to Target for some drawer liners, which of course had to match the shower curtain. A little tossing and dispersing of NON facial items and voila, a beautifully organized drawer, that doesn't shift with every pull of the handle!

I have seen other fun ideas on Pinterest for make up storage as well, here are a few of my fav's if you don't happen to have an empty drawer of your own.
