I saved the boxes I had made
last year in Newport and re-stuffed them with candy, fun daily Christmas (age appropriate) things to do and scripture verses this year. Since our youngest is 2-1/2 he gets to participate this year, so my three kiddos take turns on whose day it is to open.
I printed the wonderful list of scripture verses
HERE
&
A few of the notes my kids get to open each day are:
Sing Jesus Loves Me, Watercolor a Christmas Picture, Help Mommy Bake Cookies today, Build a Manger out of Legos, Sing Jingle Bells while standing on one leg, Skype someone you love, Read a Christmas book to someone who can't, go enjoy hot cocoa at Starbucks, Find the baby Jesus, Make a Birthday cake for Jesus, Painte your nails Christmas colors with Mommy.
The skys the limit on advent calendars, make them fun for your individual family! The treats don't need to be huge, our boxes are stuffed with a handful of M&M's, Jellybeans, or One round Cookies & Cream candy treat.
