Mother's Day Gift Idea and Card

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mama's out there!

Whether you're currently a Mom, Grandmother, 

have a baby in heaven, adopted your child, or are 

currently preggers....you are all 

Mother's and deserve a day for everyone to just

say, Thank You!

I found the sweet little grey wooden saying

at TJ Maxx and was on the hunt for something

fun to go with it...lavender is such an uplifting 

aroma, a bottle of lotion from Scotland

and a fancy wrapped bar of soap, set the tone

for the purple card. The box smelled divine

once I had everything packaged up as well!

Of course, nothing says Thank you like 

chocolate, I know it's always be appreciated 

by my Mom.

If you have a plethora of stamp supplies and machines,

then you probably know what the Big Shot is. I use mine

pretty much every time I'm in my craft room and love the 

diversity of cutting tools that you can use with the machine.

First I stamped two different stamps on white cardstock

and then using the magnetic platform (amazing!) placed my

framelits die on top of where I wanted to cut. One quick

roll through the machine and perfection, I tell ya! 

The nice thing about Framelits is that they come in

multiple sizes, so you can frame your projects with 

a different color to add more dimension to your projects.

The Big Shot is also capable of using the dry embossing

folders with it but I have the Texture Boutique for just 

those, instead. I placed just the front of my lavender

cardstock inside the folder, rolled it through the machine

and out came this beautiful scrollwork.

A bit of bakers twine, some foam pop dots and 

a thoughtful card for a wonderful Mother!

Hoppy Easter Footprint Card

If you're looking for a quick and cute way to impress

the Grand or Great GrandParents this Easter

and you happen to have a little one to use as a human stamp,

then try your hand at this cute Hoppy Easter handmade card!

I used my 9-1/2 month old's wee little bunny foot and inked

it up with a bit of craft ink (it washed right off with soap and

water, as soon as we were finished stamping) and then sprinkled

white embossing powder on the image. After heat embossing her

sweet little foot, I used a brayer to roll the blue background onto 

my white cardstock. I guess I could've just used a blue cardstock

instead but I was trying to go for a different look...

I then took a piece of dry swiffer, to buff the blue ink off of her

footprint and then started on the rest of my card. I wanted the card

to say Hoppy Easter, so I just combined two stamps and voila, 

a new saying! The 'from your little bunny' I printed off of my

computer and stuck everything down with doubled sided sticky

tape & snail adhesive.

I hope our Greats and Grands love it as much as I do!

Making Valentines

Another year of kid friendly Valentines and this

year with two of my little people in school, we had

double the amount.

We used acrylic paint for the hand and foot prints, then

I let the older three go crazy with glitter glue and stickers.

The perfect project to send to the Grandparents

for their Valentine wedding Anniversary!

I always keep my eye peeled for fun crafts or projects for

my kiddos. Since they see Mommy crafting all the time, they

like to get involved too. I picked up three boxes of cards at

Target and the kids stuck their Valentine greeting to the front, 

then wrote and stamped inside for their friends.

We taped candy hearts onto each card with a bit of 

Washi Tape for all the classmates. The teachers and school

staff will be getting these fun chocolate -one is a million- candy bars 

and other assortment of Valentine chocolate candies.

My daughter made her Valentine box about two weeks ago

and just jazzed up the heart banner with a bit of glitter glue.

Happy September 1st!!

LeroyLime is back open on Etsy...can I get a woot woot! I've been working on new product, photos and listings, so swing by when you have a chance. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the new as well as the old or what you'd like to see in the future. 

The new norm is settling in here at home, school is back in session (yea!). So two of my chickens are in school while the other two run circles around me. Well one of them anyway... the other just lays there and smiles.

Summer is coming to an end and the sweet crisp air of fall will be here before we know it. I have to admit, I'm in no rush to rid the warm away this year. Even though I love fall, I know what is soon to follow...the cold, BRRR.

I'll be hosting a giveaway this month on the blog, thank you for being patient with me as I've taken maternity leave. Our little girl couldn't be more perfect!

Teacher Survival Kits

Tomorrow is the first day of school for my kiddos and I've heard so many parents have tears in their eyes, not here...this Mama will be jumping for joy, hallelujah! :) hehe

We met their teachers today and dropped off school supplies. 

Can't believe I have one in 3rd and a Kindergartner! Wow!

Since tomorrow is going to be a busy day, the kids took their new teachers a 

survival kit today. Both teachers were thrilled and one even said she had

never gotten anything like it before, GASP!...come on parents, teachers need

some serious love too! 

It's really the thought that counts...apples are great and all but it's not 1930 anymore!

Can I get a what what for a little Starbucks?! A bar of dark German chocolate, yummy. A water cup filled with mints, cause ya kind of need one after you've had a coffee...and some cute little note cards hand stamped by moi' with apples of course!

I'd love to hear what you gave your children's teachers this year or in years past.

Cardstore Review

I was recently asked to review a card from Cardstore, or rather the process of purchasing a card via cardstore.com and with my Dad's 70th Birthday coming up, I have to say, I found THE perfect card for a laid back farmer and lover of classic things. 

(inside it says: Classic. Happy Birthday)

The options are endless, from choosing a pre made card, which you can personalize to creating a photo card and adding your own crafty spin on it. I loved the ease of the drop down boxes and the mini card preview at the top of the page, that showed which step I was working on.

Cardstore didn't leave anything out in the checkout process either...with a magnifying glass that automatically pops up so you can scan your card for spelling mistakes before placing your order.

I quickly created an account with my email address and a simple password and then headed to the payment and shipping option. You can either mail the card directly to your recipient or to yourself, as I did in this case since we are putting a skydiving gift card inside. 

Since it's his 70th, what better way to help him celebrate from afar then with a cool classic Birthday card and helping him check something off his bucket list!

Loved cardstore so much, I've already made up two more cards, with photos this time, for Grandparents day and have them saved so I can mail them closer to the date... easy breezy!
